The Best Mexico Has To Offer

So on a recent trip to Mexico, Emily and Jimmy discovered Manzana Lift. Manzana Lift is a soda that tastes like apple juice but is fizzy like seltzer water. It is truly fantastic and everyone who has tried it loves it. The only problem is that our local grocery store doesn't sell it...we have to go all the way downtown to El Rey to buy it....but it is so worth it. When Emily went she bought six bottles of it.

Eventually Jimmy and Emily are going to see if they can recreate it, by boiling off the water in apple juice and mixing it with Sprite or seltzer water.

Bad Ass

So yesterday Emily and her mom went to Kohl's....they came home with a giant cupcake pan.

So today Emily buys a cake mix and some frosting...good ole Betty Crocker stuff. Anyway, she makes these cupcakes. They are bigger than Emily's fist, as the last picture indicates. In fact, they are so huge they can truly only be described as "bad ass." A whole cake mix only made 9 cupcakes.

Julia Child & Mexican Food

Jimmy (the sage) and Emily (the grasshopper) have decided to create a food blog.

"Why?" you ask

Because we love Julia Child (and sympathize with her love for butter) and we love Mexican food...really not even mole verde scares us.

And now we leave you with a message from Julia Child herself, written in a sidewalk in Cambridge Massachusetts:
